Singapore-specificFree Trade Zone
A designated area, such as the port and airport, where goods can be landed, stored, and re-exported without paying duty or GST.
In practice
Singapore's FTZs include the PSA terminals, Jurong Port, Changi Airfreight Centre, and Keppel Distripark. Cargo inside the FTZ has not been imported yet. An import permit and GST are needed only when it leaves the FTZ into Singapore. Transhipment cargo can stay entirely within the FTZ.
