The document that authorises a port or warehouse to release cargo to the consignee or their trucker.
In practice
Issued by the carrier (or the forwarder's agent) once the original B/L is surrendered or telex release is confirmed and destination charges are paid. The trucker presents it to the terminal to collect the container. For LCL, the CFS releases against the forwarder's DO.
