In practice
Works for any transport mode and is the recommended replacement for FOB in container shipping, because risk passes when the container is handed to the carrier or CFS, not when it goes over the ship's rail. Incoterms 2020 allows the buyer to instruct the carrier to issue an on-board B/L to the seller.
